After many years working with cosmetic companies, I have accumulated an insane amount of makeup. It just sits in tubs unused and crying for someone to play with them. I don’t like waste and even though I have a lot that I keep just because I like to look at them, I still have some duplicates and products that I can give to a new home!
Since this is my first giveaway please bear with me! Understand that almost all of this makeup has not been used. The ones that have a mark, have only been used for swatching.
The winner understands to use these products at their own discretion. The items listed are non-transferable. There are no cash or other substitutes of prizes by winner.
US RESIDENTS ONLY. Sorry.
How to win:
“Like” RachelHarrisMakeupArtist on Facebook Follow on Twitter @Makeupbyrachel
One (1) winner will be selected through a random drawing from all eligible entries after contest closes to win. All entries must be received on or before November 23rd, 2012 at 12:00 am EST. The winner will be notified via email or message. Winner will have 24 hours to claim prize after initial notification.
I will also enclose as a special “Thank You” a FREE MAC lipstick, lipglass or single eyeshadow of your choice! (I have a million products for B2M, item must be a color from everyday collection) Winner will notify me of their choice when contacted.
Have fun and Happy Thanksgiving!!
Cheers!

One of the reasons I attended The Makeup Show in Orlando was to stock up on kit supplies. I usually order online since most Pro stores are in NY or LA, here I get the chance to touch, use and ask questions about products.
My first stop was Makeup For Ever.

I picked up:
Flash Palette , you can use this product alone or mix with ANY makeup product to adjust color or create something new. It’s a must have for any Artist’s kit.
HD Foundation
Chromatic Mix in Red , a brand new product that you can add to foundation, lipstick, liner, etc. Adjusts color. Just use a tiny drop! It comes in 6 primary colors.
HD Powder
Sens’ Eyes makeup remover
Aqua Black eyeliner
Double-Ended Sculpting Brush and Case
You can find them at Sephora
Next stop was for little items that make a BIG difference.

Lucas’ Papaw Ointment perfect for adding shine when wanted. Can be used for eczema and dermatitis.
Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre’ a kit staple used to hydrate and tone skin. Rich in vitamins, essential fatty acids, Shea butter, Aloe Vera and Soy Proteins. Perfect for sensitive skin types.
Nigel’s Lashes
Graftobian HD Foundation Palette in Warm.
Alcone Make-Off Wipes
Beauty So Clean disinfectant for your makeup. Spray on foundations, eyeshadows, powders…
Look for these items at Alcone or Nigel’s Beauty Emporium
Finally two products from Ofra Cosmetics

Makeup Fixer is a sealant, you can spray on your face after applying makeup. It will protect it even under extreme temperatures. Great for our Florida Brides!
Fix-It is a liquid that will bring back to life any gel or emollient product that has dried up. Just add a small drop & mix. I’m going to use it on my MAC Fluidline!
OFRA Cosmetics
Let me know what your favorite makeup items are! I love discovering new products.
Hope you enjoyed!

Finally, I had the chance to attend The Makeup Show. It arrived close to home in Orlando, FL this weekend. I was so excited to learn from Beauty Experts in their seminars, to meet other artists in the industry and,of course, stock up on kit essentials.
Yesterday I was able to meet in person my twitter friend Lourdes G. of Vice Beauty Blog. It’s wonderful to connect & make friends thru social media. Lourdes and I have been in touch for over a year and didn’t have the chance till now to meet up. Another thrill was meeting the uber talented and sweetest person in the Industry Tia Dantzler! She was there to speak on “Branding Yourself as a Freelance Makeup Artist” and to introduce her new makeup tutorial DVD. She told us the facts of the beauty industry and reminded us that hard work and passion will help you achieve your goals and dreams.
Face Off fans ( like myself ) were able to meet and talk to Roy Wooley and view his work. I enjoyed talking shop with James Vincent and learning how he condenses his kit into one small bag ( amazing! ).
Most of all, it was a great day to spend with my friends Andrea and Noui. We had a blast examining all the products and venders and sharing our “makeup” stories with each other. One thing I love about the beauty industry is that you meet great people who are just as passionate about the craft as you are and who cheer you on in your career as you do theirs. There is enough room in the makeup world for all of us so why not share and support your fellow artists! ❤
When The Makeup Show rolls into your town, you need to attend. Anytime you have a day to network, learn and shop, you’ve invested in making your career a reality!
Cheers!

Whew! It has been a busy 4 weeks for me!
In that timeframe, I have been signed to a new Artist Management Company called Current Studio. I am so happy to be able to branch out more in my market and work with new and established companies. I’ve dreamed and worked hard for so many years to reach this goal. I also know that I have many things to learn still and to always keep current & open-minded to help sharpen my skills.
I will always do test work ( they’re just too fun!) and freelance with Brand companies….which leads me to my next bit of news. I am now a freelance artist for NARS Cosmetics! I have always coveted NARS and their great artistry and makeup line. I’m so excited to be a part of their team and family.
It’s been an amazing, beautiful, exhausting, triumphant, artful, familial 10 years that I’ve spent with MAC Cosmetics. I’m so very grateful for all that I have learned and experienced there and most of all, the friends I’ve made.
So let’s buckle up the brush belt because there’s no slowing down now!! Full Speed Ahead!!
Cheers!

CoverGirl has announced their newest spokesmodels with Janelle Monae and Pink. They each possess a uniqueness and style that can relate to many women across the globe! Pink has that “beauty with an edge” and Janelle is our “different kind of diva “. Both bringing RockStar power to the campaign.
Janelle Monae:“I believe it’s time that women truly owned their superpowers and used their beauty and strength to change the world around them”
I’m so excited to see these two ladies join the family of CoverGirls especially with my favorites Ellen Degeneres and Queen Latifah.
